Dina is a native of Forest Hills Queens and raised there. However, she moved to Dix Hills Long Island before the close of her senior year in high school. She has two younger siblings and an older brother. When she was between the ages of 9 to 16, her first exposure to the world of modeling was when she began modeling. She began her training in acting in The Neighborhood Playhouse in New York and studied Sanford Meisner's acting techniques, in conjunction with Ron Stetson, for about three years. Sandra Bullock and Michael Douglas were among the other actors who received such instruction. Her first acting role came in Beverly Hills 90210. This required her moving out in Los Angeles. Her first role was in Johnny Mnemonic. She did every stunt in the film and established her as an athlete actress. She was also represented by Matt LeBlanc, so through her talent agent, she was able to get a regular part on Friends.
